From corporate to AI strategist
Sarah grew up in Hobart with an entrepreneurial spirit β selling apples and flowers from the family orchard on weekends. That early instinct for creating joy, connection, and commerce never left her.
Across 20+ years she worked at the intersection of human-centred design, behavioural science and technology, including as Chief Design Officer at ASB Bank and senior roles at Commonwealth Bank and NAB. She has explicitly been involved in $700M+ of transformation. She saw a pattern: organisations rushing into AI without the strategy, literacy, or cultural foundations to use it well.
Through Wonder & Wander she helps enterprises design AI strategy, literacy and capability while keeping inclusion, ethics, human agency and customer trust at the centre.
Before that, she created Wired for Wonder β the iconic innovation conference that ran 2013β2019, featuring 250+ speakers including Steve Wozniak, Nolan Bushnell, Guy Kawasaki, Rachel Botsman, and BrenΓ© Brown. She is, as Nolan Bushnell put it: βa really talented producer.β
She is neurodivergent, a mother of five, a keynote speaker, a magazine editor, a community builder, and the Wonder in Wonder & Wander. She believes the future belongs to those who design it with intention.
